Welcome and Introductions:
- The Council meeting was called to order by Chair Geoffrey Barrow at 6:00 pm and a quorum was present.
- Principal A. Welburn delivered the Land Acknowledgment
- The minutes of the last meeting were approved as circulated
- School Council norms were reviewed and no changes were made
- All members confirmed participation for the remaining scheduled meetings

Staff Update
- Cross Country Team and Intermediate Volleyball Teams
- Terry Fox run/walk was a huge success

- October 22 – Newcomer Family Engagement Event 1:30pm

- October 31 - Fall Dance
- Nov. 14 - Online Terra Cotta Cookie Dough Fundraiser begins

New Business
School Council Goals for 2025-2026
- A variety of ideas were discussed
- Events that include student participation were noted as the most successful and engaging.
- The overall theme for council initiatives this year is Well-Being.
- Subcommittee members: J. Shears, S. Jazayeri, I. Jalali, A. Prem, M. Rahimi, L. Chen
- Social media expert, Paul Davis, will present information related to social media and online safety to students and parents in February
- Subcommittee members: G. Barrow, A. Lakhanpal, A. Prakash, A. Prem, S. Asgharieh
- A movie night and guest speaker are tentatively planned for November 27
Fundraising Plan
- Future fundraising efforts will be aligned with school events.
